The December 21, 1852 issue of the Bucks County Intelligencer noted this property as intended  for a residence and tailor shop. Prior to that, it was likely the site of John Merrick’s wheelwright shop and home.

A datestone at the end of the east facade near ground level reads 1784, but the exact date of the structure is unclear.
