45, 51, 57, and 64 Main Street. These buildings are good examples of the Gothic revival architecture of the mid-1800’s. On December 12, 1852, the Bucks County Intelligencer noted that Thomas Satterthwaite bought a lot from Benjamin S. Woolston and was erecting “a spacious dwelling” at 57 Main Street. On the 21st of that month, the paper noted the completion of the home of Peter Bailey on the adjoining property at 51 Main. An 1860 map indicates that 45 Main was also owned by Woolston. 64 Main Street is a fine example of a Victorian Gothic. Privately owned. |
